Nostalgia with a capital NO

Whatever happened to the things my momma told me what a lady always wears/does/doesn’t do?

Just this morning at church–yeah, I go to church on Sundays–I saw a young lady with a white skirt on and underneath…well, I’m not sure, but I know she didn’t wear a slip.  Some of this up-and-coming generation don’t even know what a slip is.  I remember when ladies didn’t leave the house with a skirt or dress that didn’t have a slip underneath.

And then there’s what a lady always does or doesn’t do.  Like say “please” and “thank you.”  Heck, that goes for a gentleman as well…but that’s another blog topic.  And she doesn’t use language that would make a sailor blush.  Sh** and F***, for example.

I prefer the DOs.

DO be pleasant to everyone.

DO forgive as you want to be forgiven.

DO treat children as you would want others to treat your children.

DO be tolerant of others’ opinions, especially those that are different from your own.
