I’m a second namer.  My parents named me Mary Patricia, but nicknamed me Pat.  My younger brother called me Patsy, and my teachers called me Patricia.  There was a time around eighth grade when I wouldn’t answer to any name but Mary Patricia.

Now I write and direct plays under the name Pat Hornsby Crochet, and sign checks Patricia H. Crochet.  As a concession to my first (legal) name, my name on voter rolls and at work is M. Patricia H. Crochet.  Never mind…just call me Pat.
